Empowering ITE PE Teachers to Safeguard Sport

Teachers go to class too. In this workshop, teachers discussed their dual roles both conducting lessons and engaging external coaches, and how keeping Safe Sport in mind creates a nurturing environment for students.

On 22 November 2024, Safe Sport and Physical Education (PE) teachers from ITE College Central met for an engaging workshop on Safe Sport principles.

The session was packed with lively discussions about recognising abuse and harassment, setting professional boundaries, and building a positive sporting culture.
A highlight of the session was hearing teachers share their experiences supporting students with special needs, sparking meaningful conversations on inclusivity in safeguarding.

After a rich afternoon of idea-sharing, the teachers left armed with knowledge, strategies and a shared commitment to cultivating positive and empowering sporting experiences for all.
