Shaping Champions, Shaping Culture at Peter Lim Scholarship 2026

Recipients of the Singapore Olympic Foundation - Peter Lim Scholarship 2026 build their Circle of Safety.
Sport brings people together — and so does the commitment to keeping it safe. That was the spirit in the room at the Singapore Olympic Foundation - Peter Lim Scholarship Awards 2026 where we had the opportunity to set up a Safe Sport booth.
We connected with young athletes from primary schools to the high performance level, raising Safe Sport awareness through our activities: The Circle of Safety and the Upstander test.

The Circle of Safety invited athletes to reflect on the behaviours around them and consider how these contribute to a safe sporting environment, a simple but meaningful exercise that encourages everyone to look beyond their own experience and think about the culture they are part of.
Our Safe Sport ambassador and national swimmer Tedd Windsor Chan III was there in person, helping to introduce the Circle of Safety and engaging directly with athletes. We were also delighted to have Amy McClintock from Safe Sport New Zealand join us, giving her a chance to see firsthand how our outreach programmes are like. She brought a different perspective on what it takes to build safe sporting cultures, and it was a great opportunity for an exchange of ideas across borders.

Our booth also received a visit from the event's Guest of Honour, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and Senior Minister of State for Education David Neo. A meaningful show of support for the safe sport movement.

Some of the most rewarding moments of the day came from the conversations we had with parents. The message that kept coming through was a simple but powerful one: everyone wants to keep sport safe. We just need to make sure that support is available, and that we all keep playing our part.
From scholarship recipients to their biggest supporters in the stands, the day was a good reminder that safe sport is a shared commitment that lives in all of us.
